Why choose a wall heater?
Space-saving heating for a range of rooms
You want a wall-mounted heater when you’re looking for a fireplace, but can’t afford to lose out on floor space. In rooms where efficient heating matters more than the look of a traditional fire, wall-hung units are a more practical alternative.
Quiet and easy to live with
Our range features wall-hung fires with advanced natural convection technology. These appliances ensure quiet operation, so they’re great for areas where peace and tranquillity go a long way (e.g., lounges with TVs or studies).
Beyond comfort, these heaters are economical to run and easy to fit – they’re a budget-friendly way to keep temperatures steady through reliable, efficient performance.

DRU balanced-flue wall heaters
At the centre of our wall-mounted heater collection are the DRU Art Style balanced-flue models.
These high-performance, gas-powered units use balanced-flue technology to deliver powerful warmth without a conventional chimney. Instead, they draw combustion air from outside and use natural convection to heat the room.
Across our range, you’ll find enamelled steel plate combustion chambers, plus piezo spark ignition and a thermostat supplied as standard.
Options for smaller and larger spaces
For smaller rooms or well-insulated spaces, we offer compact units starting around 2.5–3.5 kW. If you need to heat larger, open-plan areas or shared spaces, our high-capacity wall heaters can reach up to 10.7–11.1 kW.
Ideal for homes and shared spaces
One of our favourite things about this range is that a wall-hung gas heater can go anywhere.
DRU’s Art balanced-flue wall heaters are well-suited to a range of shared environments, including (but not limited to) homes, offices, schools and churches.
But what makes this level of flexibility possible? The balanced-flue design.
These closed-combustion wall heaters are room-sealed and more efficient than open-combustion alternatives because they draw air from outside and expel gases through the flue, eliminating the need for a traditional chimney.
FAQs
What is a wall-mounted gas heater?
Wall heaters are mounted to the wall rather than sitting on the floor like a stove or built in like a traditional fireplace.
Their primary objective is to maximise floor space while providing direct, effective heat. Our DRU Art Style models employ balanced-flue technology, which uses natural convection to heat the space by drawing air from outside the building.
Do wall heaters need a chimney?
Not usually. DRU’s suspended wall-hung gas heaters do not require a conventional chimney.
Are wall heaters suitable for smaller rooms?
The DRU Art 2 (2.5 kW on natural gas or 2.0 kW on LPG) and the Art 3 (3.5 kW on natural gas or 3.1 kW on LPG) are two small models that work well in well-insulated and smaller rooms.
Are wall-mounted gas heaters quiet to run?
Yes. Thanks to their natural convection heating and balanced-flue design, DRU’s Art Style wall heaters operate quietly.
Who should install a gas wall heater?
According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), anyone working on gas appliances, including the installation and maintenance of wall heaters, must be a Gas Safe-registered engineer.
It’s illegal for unregistered individuals to install or repair gas appliances, and all such work must meet safety standards.
