Choose your fuel

How do you want to use your appliance day-to-day? Fireplace stoves come in a range of fuel options, and your traditional wood burner brings an unmistakable ambience to lounges, extensions and inglenooks.

Not everyone has the time to tend a real fire, so if you want a similar look with simpler operation, a gas stove offers heat at the touch of a button.

For even greater convenience, the flame effect of our contemporary electric stoves

works exceptionally well in flats and rented properties.

Top brands you can trust

At Fires2U, we’re proud to stock the UK’s leading brands, including fireplace stoves from the fantastic Dik Geurtsrange and beautiful electric options from Celsi, Onyx and Be Modern.

Each product in our range has been selected for its incredible craftsmanship: your job is to decide which contemporary stove is best for your home. When you’re in the planning phase, always check dimensions and clearances in the product details.

For a built-in finish, our inset wood-burning stoves are designed to sit neatly into a fireplace opening. No chimney? No worries – you could still achieve the look with our balanced flue or flueless stoves, subject to requirements and professional advice.

FAQs

Do I need a chimney to install a stove?

It depends on the fuel type.

Traditional fireplace stoves do require a chimney or a professionally installed twin-wall flue system. However, if you don’t have a chimney, you can choose a balanced flue gas stove, which vents directly through an external wall.

What is an EcoDesign stove?

EcoDesign is the European standard for lowering emissions.

All new stoves manufactured since 2022 must meet these regulations. These models burn fuel much more cleanly – they reduce particulate emissions by up to 90% compared to an open fire and 80% compared to older stoves.

Can I install a stove myself?

To comply with UK building regulations, we strongly advise against DIY installation of solid-fuel or gas appliances. Wood and multi-fuel stoves must be installed by a HETAS-registered engineer.

Gas stoves must also be fitted by a Gas Safe-registered engineer. However, electric stoves can generally be set up by anyone without professional assistance.

What is the difference between wood burning and multi-fuel?

A wood-burning stove is designed specifically for logs and usually has a flat fuel bed. A multifuel stove is built to burn wood and approved smokeless fuels and typically includes a grate (so air can come from underneath) and an ashpan.
